Mr Eddy Wu
CEO
Eddy has a strong finance and management background and has worked as CEO/MD of several resource companies in Australia. As the first CEO of Murray Zircon Pty Ltd, he successfully completed the development and start-up of the Mindarie Mineral Sands project in South Australia. Mr Wu was a Board member for ASX listed company Image Resources (IMA), which successfully and profitably mined the Boonanarring mineral sands mine near Perth in Western Australia. He graduated from the University of Science and Technology, Beijing. He holds a Master’s Degree in Commerce (Finance) from the Australian National University and a Master’s Degree in Science from Cass Business School, City University London.
Mr John Bradley
Non-Executive Director
John brings a wealth of experience to the WIM Board, having played a prominent role in the development of the chemicals and water purification industry in Australia. John has founded and developed several successful companies, including Hardman Chemicals Pty Ltd, Bituminous Products Pty Ltd and Lucas Boilers Pty Ltd.
Michael Winternitz
Director of Projects
Michael is responsible for managing WIM’s portfolio and downstream international integration. He currently is Project Director for the Avonbank Project, and the remainder of WIM’s portfolio. He has significant experience across exploration, resource development and project management across a wide variety of commodities and settings. Michael held position of Project Geologist with Iluka Resources, Exploration Manager with Aard Metals Ltd. Michael currently sits as President on the Board for the Science Foundation for Physics at the University of Sydney.
Kevin O’Brien
Director of Community and Landowner Relations
Kevin grew up in Leongatha and, after studying and working in Melbourne, has lived and worked in Hamilton and Horsham, where he has raised his family. Kevin has 30 years of experience in Local Government, most recently as Director of Communities and Place at Horsham Rural City Council, with responsibility for community services, emergency management, economic development, and planning. He brings a wealth of experience in community and stakeholder engagement and has a genuine understanding of the Horsham community. As WIM’S Director of Community and Landowner Relations, Kevin will play a key role in guiding WIM’s engagement with local communities, landholders, and Traditional Owners as we move Avonbank into the construction and operational phase, ensuring that every voice is heard, every partnership is valued, and every outcome contributes to a stronger, more resilient region.
Joe Chandler
Manager Approvals and Environment
Joe is an accomplished environmental professional with over 25-years experience working within the mineral sands industry in Western Australia (including Tronox’s Cooljarloo operation) and within the State Government Mining Departments in Western Australia and Victoria. Joe has a proven track record of successfully developing and implementing environmental and rehabilitation management systems for several mine sites across Australia. He has gained valuable environmental approvals experience across multiple jurisdictions including Victoria, NSW, Queensland and WA. Joe currently manages Environmental & Approvals for WIM Resource across WIM’s portfolio and is focused on moving the Avonbank Project to a shovel ready stage.
Jarrod Pye
Principal Mining Engineer
Jarrod has a wealth of experience in managing mineral sands operations and mine planning. He brings both practical and technical knowledge from various operations to WIM. Previous to joining WIM Jarrod held the role of Production Superintendent for Iluka’s JA Operation. Jarrod was also the Senior Mining Engineer for Image Resource’s Perth based HMS project and Murray Zircon’s Mindarie Operations. Jarrod worked in the Murray Basin for Iluka’s Victorian mining operations as a Mining Engineer, as well as other roles in hard rock previous to mineral sands.
David Jelley
Project Manager – SB10 and Quambatook
David has extensive experience in exploring for copper and gold and has discovered numerous mineral sands deposits. Following a career in gold and base metals David spent seven years with Bemax Resources and was instrumental in the discovery of over 1.5 billion tonnes of heavy mineral bearing sands including the Ginkgo, Snapper and Crayfish deposits near Pooncarie, NSW. All these deposits are now in production. Since 2000, David has held numerous senior positions with exploration companies both within Australia and overseas where he was responsible for managing exploration for mineral sands, copper and gold. David also co-owns an award-winning farm with his wife in Queensland and has a strong empathy with the land.
Lyall Grey
Community Engagement & Coexistence Officer
Born and raised on a sheep and cattle farm in Hamilton, Lyall spent 10 years as a photojournalist with Stock and Land newspaper and 5 years as Communications Director with the Victorian Farmers Federation. An active volunteer firefighter for over 30 years, Lyall is the immediate past captain of his local brigade. Lyall brings extensive experience to our team, having held a range of senior roles, including as Public Relations Manager with Mount Isa Mines in far north-west Queensland, Community Engagement Officer with the State Government’s Minerals Development Victoria, and Stakeholder Relations Manager with Stavely Minerals at Glenthompson. As WIM’s Community Engagement & Coexistence Officer, Lyall works closely with farmers, local businesses, key stakeholders, and the local community to keep people informed of the project and foster relationships for the economic betterment of the region.
Emily Humphries
Community, Environment Support & Office Coordinator
Emily is a Horsham local and brings hands-on experience in mineral exploration and people-focused roles, where she enjoys actively building and maintaining positive relationships with local stakeholders and has a deep understanding of the important role they play. Previously, she held the role of Operations Manager at Australian Wildflowers, located in the Grampians, overseeing day-to-day operations and stakeholder coordination. She has also spent the past five years working alongside our exploration team during the drilling season, gaining valuable knowledge and practical experience, and has also participated in Community Engagement-related activities. She is currently involved in community sport as both a coach and player with her local football netball club, further strengthening her leadership, teamwork, and community connections.
Tony Mason
Principal Geological Consultant
Tony has a geology degree from Melbourne University and a post graduate degree in Mineral Economics from Macquarie University. He has more than 40 years’ experience in mineral exploration and development, including over twenty years in mineral sands in the Murray Basin. He has held senior positions with RZM, Murray Basin Titanium, and as a private consultant for the past ten years. He is a Principal Adviser to Murray Zircon and has been heavily involved with the development of the Mindarie Mineral Sands Mine. Tony has previously had extensive experience with the WIM 150 Project, the Donald Mineral Sands Project and several other fine-grained mineral sand prospects.
