Horsham Primary School

Horsham Primary School has a new gazebo, thanks to a $5,000 community grant from WIM Resource to replace the school’s previous gazebo, which was destroyed by a windstorm during the school’s athletics day earlier this year.
The gazebo is a well-used piece of school infrastructure, providing shade and shelter for a wide range of school and community activities throughout the year, including school sports days, interschool sporting events, Relay for Life participation, school fetes, end of term assemblies and welcome barbeques.
As a SunSmart school, Horsham Primary School relies on the gazebo to help protect students, staff and community members from sun exposure, as well as wind and rain, helping to ensure outdoor events can be held safely and comfortably.
With the new gazebo now in place, the school is looking forward to putting it to use throughout the remainder of the school calendar, with students, staff and families set to benefit from the durable, high-quality replacement for years to come.
WIM Resource Director of Community and Landholder Relations, Kevin O’Brien: “WIM Resource was proud to support a project that would benefit students and the wider school community for years to come. We are pleased to support Horsham Primary School in replacing this important piece of school infrastructure. It’s great to see the new gazebo up and in use at Horsham Primary School. Projects like this help ensure students, staff and families have access to safe, shaded outdoor spaces for the many events held across the school calendar.
The Horsham Primary School has welcomed the arrival of its new gazebo, which will provide a valuable shaded and sheltered space for students, families and staff: “The new gazebo will be a wonderful addition to our school and will benefit our students and wider community for many years to come. It will provide a much-needed shaded and sheltered space for students, families and staff during events and activities, including sports days, family picnics, colour runs, assemblies and other community celebrations. Having a gazebo that can be used by our whole school community will make such a difference to the way we run these events. Most importantly, it gives our students a safe shady spot, comfortable place to gather, participate and enjoy these special moments together.”
