Mineral Council of Australia Victorian Women in Resources Awards
Now in its 9th year, the Victorian Women in Resources Awards was celebrated at a special ceremony at Parliament House in June 2026, hosted by the Minerals Council of Australia
WIM has been an annual awards sponsor since 2022 and is proud to continue its support for these prestigious awards, celebrating the achievements of women in the Victorian mining industry. Winners represent a broad range of roles across the industry from traditional trades to community engagement, earth sciences, and digital technology.

Science and Engineering Challenge / Rotary Club of Horsham East
Hosted by the Rotary Club of Horsham East and combined district service clubs, WIM has been the major sponsor of this schools based initiative since 2022
The Science and Engineering Challenge is a nationwide program coordinated by the University of Newcastle which aims to inspire school students to consider a future in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
Each year nearly 400 junior and senior students from across the Wimmera region come together to take on a series of hands-on STEM challenges designed to test their problem-solving and teamwork skills.
Defying the Drift / Rotary District 9780
Operating since 2010, the Defying the Drift program is an initiative of Rotary District 9780 and each year targets over 30 senior secondary school students encouraging them to explore career options in regional and rural Australia with a particular focus in the ag and resources industry.
The Defying the Drift is held at Longerenong Agricultural College and WIM has been a proud annual sponsor of this program since 2022
Western Victorian Careers Expo
The Western Victorian Careers Expo has been operating for over 30 years and attracts a large number of secondary schools from across 12 local government areas, with approximately 2,000 students and job seekers and over 100 exhibitors attending the event.
Coordinated by the Wimmera Southern Mallee LLEN, WIM is proud to have established a long term partnership as a major financial and industry sponsor of the West Vic Careers Expo.
Horsham Christian Emergency Food Centre
WIM has supported the annual Wimmera Christmas food hamper program each year first partnering with the volunteer based Horsham Christian Emergency Food Centre in 2023
Through sponsoring the CEFC’s Christmas Hamper program, WIM is proud to be able to connect with families and communities in need across the region, to bring a little bit of relief and support and make a positive contribution to the wider community each Christmas.
Murtoa Big Weekend
A participant and partner since 2021, WIM is proud to be involved with the Murtoa Big Weekend. From supporting and participating at the Saturday morning Lake Market to the impressive town light show and more recently being a key sponsor of the Friday night music festival on the lake.
Wimmera Art Fair / Rotary Club of Horsham East
The Wimmera Art Fair has celebrated local artists for over 45 years, WIM is a major sponsor of this popular event which is conducted by the Rotary Club of Horsham East. This important cultural event celebrates regional artistic talent and strengthens community ties.
