Quambatook
Overview
The Quambatook Project is an early-stage mineral sands project that hosts a major exploration target of mineral sands, boasting a high-grade Zircon-rich mineral assemblage consistent with other projects in WIM’s resource portfolio. The project features good nearby infrastructure, including rail, road, and power.
Location
EL5368 is to the northwest of the town of Boort and adjacent to Quambatook (southeast of Kerang), lying within the southeast of the Mallee region of northern Victoria.
Resource Geology
WIM has defined three exploration targets of offshore mineral sands mineralization with a cumulative estimated exploration target of 300-450 million tonnes @ 2.0-2.5% Total Heavy Minerals (THM). Other areas of regional interest were also identified, including a southern area of WIM mineralization and several major beach packages for strandline.
Work Completed
WIM has completed around 6000m of low impact air core exploration and resource definition drilling over the project area, with the view of developing a geological model and also defining exploration targets.
